The Wesley Gassova to West Ham United transfer saga has had more twists and turns than a Grand Prix circuit!

West Ham is reportedly eyeing Wesley Gassova as a key transfer target, with the Premier League club having already submitted an official bid of £15.4 million for his services.

Recent reports suggest that West Ham is leading the race to sign the 19-year-old winger, although Corinthians are holding out for around £21 million.

Kia Joorabchian, a familiar face in football circles, is reportedly playing a crucial role in West Ham’s efforts to secure Wesley’s signature for the upcoming summer transfer window.

Major U-turn in potential Wesley Gassova to West Ham transfer

The teenage winger was extremely close to swapping Brazil for England – East London specifically – recent reports have claimed.

However, the deal could now be hitting the buffers, and it’s apparently through no fault of our own.

The problems are coming from Corinthians’ side.

Corinthians president Augusto Melo recently informed CNN Brazil, stating, “It will be the biggest sale in Corinthians’ history. He has a bright future, the staff need the boy.”

Now, according to Andre Hernan speaking to UOL, Melo has revised the valuation for Wesley once again and is now demanding up to €35 million (£30 million).

The 19-year-old left winger has tallied seven goals and four assists in 64 senior appearances for Corinthians (according to Transfermarkt). He possesses exceptional talent, with pace and skill in abundance, making him a potentially sensational addition for the Hammers.

However, Wesley’s young age means he will likely need to add muscle to his slight frame to succeed in the physical demands of the Premier League with West Ham.

Whether the West Ham board deems him worthy of a £30 million or higher price tag remains to be seen.
