“Drawing to the END” | Hammer set for exit after rejecting offer

Hammers fullback Ben Johnson looks set to leave the club this summer after turning down multiple contract extension offers.

The future of the 24-year-old fullback Ben Johnson at West Ham has been the subject of much speculation, with reports suggesting that he is highly likely to leave the club on a free transfer in the upcoming summer window. Despite West Ham’s efforts to secure a new contract for Johnson, it seems inevitable that he will depart as interest from other clubs remains high.

During the January transfer window, Scottish side Rangers and Leeds United were reportedly interested in Johnson, and they could renew their pursuit of the fullback once his contract with West Ham expires. Everton also showed interest in Johnson about a year ago as they sought to strengthen their defensive options.

Johnson has made 20 appearances for West Ham this season across all competitions, often featuring as a late substitute under outgoing manager David Moyes. Having been with West Ham since the age of seven, Johnson progressed through the ranks to become a key member of the first team, reaching his 100th appearance for the club in February.

As Johnson’s time at West Ham nears its end, he is expected to attract interest from various English and European clubs. While it will be disappointing for West Ham fans to see one of their own depart, they will undoubtedly wish Johnson all the best in his future endeavors and wherever his next destination may be.
