SADLY West Ham Striker to leave replacement in Sight

When Michail Antonio’s contract expires in June, West Ham is anticipated to permit him to leave the team, sources have informed Football Insider.

Although the 34-year-old’s contract has one more year left on it, the Irons are reportedly prepared to let him leave for nothing.Antonio has been a vital member of David Moyes’ team during his time there and is currently West Ham’s first-choice senior striker.

But when Moyes’ contract expires in June, he will also be leaving the team.

After years of excellent service at the London Stadium, Antonio will be replaced by a new striker, and West Ham is searching the market for one.

Early inquiries by the Irons regarding a summer transfer for Panathinaikos striker Fotis Ioannidis were made, according to a report by Football Insider earlier this month (15 April).

Antonio, a West Ham player, is expected to leave after his contract is decided.

Additionally, sources told Football Insider on April 18 that Dominic Solanke, a star player for Bournemouth, is a long-term target and may cost £50 million this summer.

For the 2023–24 season, Antonio has made 29 appearances across all competitions, managing just seven goals and two assists.

Due to a knee injury he sustained earlier in the season, he missed nearly three months of play.

The Jamaican international scored 82 goals in 305 games for West Ham after leaving Nottingham Forest in 2015.

With 67 goals in the Premier League, he holds the record as the club’s all-time leading goalscorer.

In other news, there is fear of an Irons midfielder leaving.
