Championships top player wants to join Hammers

According to reports, Sammie Szmodics, a lifelong Hammers supporter who has been on fire this season, is a target for West Ham United.

The former Colchester player’s career hasn’t exactly taken off right away. With 24 goals in 41 games, Szmodics has emerged as the second-tier league’s top scorer. He is the first Blackburn player to reach this milestone since Alan Shearer did so in the 1995–96 season with a total of 30 goals in all competitions. The 28-year-old’s previous best was 16 goals for Peterborough United in the 2020–21 campaign, so this represents a major breakthrough for him.

Sammie Szmodics, who feels he is prepared to take the next step, is reportedly interested in signing with West Ham United.

Szmodics, who is currently a star at Blackburn Rovers, believes he is ready to move up to the Premier League. A number of clubs have expressed interest in the prolific attacking midfielder due to his incredible goal-scoring performances this season.
He told Talksport, “I would like to think I’m ready to make the step up.” However, what matters most is having the chance to demonstrate my abilities at that caliber.

“Hopefully, the Championship has shown those who were skeptical of me that I am capable.” I’m confident in my ability to step up and achieve great success. Everyone wants to play in the Premier League; we’ll see what the future brings.

West Ham Eye Free Transfer

Wilfred Ndidi, a midfielder for Leicester City, is reportedly a free agent that West Ham United is interested in signing this summer.

Whether David Moyes stays as manager or not, West Ham is expecting a major squad overhaul in the upcoming transfer window. Reinforcement in central midfield is a priority.

Following Kalvin Phillips’ unsatisfactory loan stint, West Ham is looking for a dependable, dynamic central midfield player. Ndidi seems to fit the bill with his energy and hard-tackling style.

West Ham is interested in signing the 27-year-old Nigerian international on a free transfer as he is nearing the end of his contract with Leicester City.

Even though Ndidi could sign for free, West Ham will have competition from Everton, Crystal Palace, and a number of European teams.

Ndidi is a compelling choice for West Ham. He’s a valuable target due to his experience, style of play, and availability on a free transfer, but they’ll have to move quickly to sign him given the competition from other teams.
