TRANSFER SAGA:West Brom Yann M’Vila transfer news could emerge on Wednesday…

The Baggies boss explained that they are hoping to hear more details about the move on Wednesday as they await a breakthrough in finalising a visa ahead of the transfer deal.

Corberan reportedly made a new midfielder a key target for Albion following the serious injury to Jayson Molumby, and has now doubled down on the importance of getting this deal done.

Speaking to the Express and Star [14 February], the boss revealed: “The club is working on it, but there is no update. Hopefully Wednesday we know something more in detail because it is one position we wanted to strengthen with the injury to Molumby.”

Journalist Lewis Cox had previously explained that there were still visa issues to be ironed out before the Frenchman could secure his move to The Hawthorns, with Corberan hopeful of that development coming in the next 24 hours.

The club have been working to get this one over the line in the last weeks since the close of the January transfer window, recognising the opportunity to secure one of Corberan’s main targets outside of the window.

An injury earlier in the season to Jayson Molumby, expected to keep him out for the foreseeable future, meant Albion had to act fast to bolster their ranks, with M’Vila providing the perfect opportunity for Albion to bring somebody in.

Whether he would be available for the clash against Southampton on 16 February is unclear, but if the news today is positive as Corberan will be hoping, his availability still looks unlikely as he will not have had much time to train and adapt to the style of play.
