After scoring 19 points earlier in the week against the Jazz, Merrill went on to score 27 points while slamming eight triples, which was a career-high. Despite the absence of three important players—Spida, Garland, and Mobley—he was the only player who could have made the difference and lead the Cavaliers to an unlikely victory.
