The east Londoners could soon be bringing in a new manager.
Following the Portuguese manager’s widely publicised talks in London earlier this week, West Ham United chiefs have discussed hiring a “ambitious” replacement for Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim. West Ham meets with Amorim as Steidten draws Moyes succession plan. Perhaps the worst-kept secret in football over the past few days has been Amorim’s meeting with West Ham.

Social media users posted pictures of Amorim boarding the plane for London, but West Ham has declined to respond to rumours that they are connected to him (Sky Sports). After leading Sporting to their first Primeira Liga championship in almost two decades in 2021, the former Braga manager has since left the country and returned to Portugal.
Giving an update on Amorim’s prospects of joining West Ham this week, Fabrizio Romano states that a move is unlikely to go any farther than this.
It could be prudent for Hammers executives to have options aside from Amorim, and rumours have it that Thomas Tuchel is on a shortlist of four managers to take over for Moyes.
Chiefs at West Ham debate the “ambitious” Thomas Tuchel move.
West Ham officials have reportedly talked about making a “ambitious” move for Tuchel, who is expected to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the current campaign, according to GiveMeSport.
A Champions League champion with Chelsea, his Premier League background and expertise as a coach at the highest levels of international football are further alluring factors for the East Londoners. But the question of whether he would be willing to join West Ham still remains.
“[Tuchel’s continuity] can only be a good thing,” defender Ben Chilwell stated of Tuchel prior to his departure from Chelsea. As players, we know we won’t find a better manager here, so we have complete faith in the manager. I’m not merely stating this. He’s an amazing manager in every way, and I believe he has a great deal of faith in us.
“Now there is that stability, everything that could have potentially been tricky last season has all been resolved so it’s up to us to work and try to get that consistency on the pitch, which is only going to happen if we put the work in away from match days.”
