Sixers to hold 2024 training camp in the Bahamas – NBC Sports PhiladelphiaThe Philadelphia 76ers are taking their 2024 training camp to a tropical paradise. For the first time, the team will conduct their camp at the Atlantis Paradise Island resort in the Bahamas. This training session is set to take place from October 1 to October 5, with Media Day scheduled for September 30 at their training facility in Camden, New Jersey.

This upcoming camp marks the second year for coach Nick Nurse with the Sixers, who is looking to build on last year’s successful camp in Fort Collins, Colorado. The previous year, the team trained in Charleston, South Carolina. Nurse is keen on using this camp to his advantage, emphasizing the importance of a well-prepared and effective practice period. “I place a lot of importance on training camp,” Nurse noted recently. “It’s crucial for our practice and preparation, and I anticipate we’ll make the most of this time to get our team ready.”

The Bahamas trip will see the Sixers integrate new and returning talent, including nine-time All-Star Paul George, who will be under Nurse’s guidance. The team is also welcoming veteran Eric Gordon, who previously played for the Bahamas national team, and Buddy Hield, who was recently traded from the Sixers to the Warriors.

While the team has yet to reveal their complete preseason schedule, they have announced several games. These include matchups against the Timberwolves on October 11 in Des Moines, the Celtics on October 12 in Boston, the Hawks on October 14 in Atlanta, the Nets on October 16 in Philadelphia, and the Magic on October 18 in Orlando. The regular season is set to kick off on October 23 with a home game at Wells Fargo Center against the Milwaukee Bucks.

This annual training camp abroad highlights the Sixers’ commitment to preparation and team cohesion, setting a promising stage for the upcoming season.
