The Star has learned that another senior Sheffield Wednesday player is the target of attention from outside parties in January.

The Owls have had a busy January window thus far, as two players have already come in and gone from S6, and work is still being done to make sure both directions of activity is finished before the month ends. Players like Josh Windass, Liam Palmer, Michael Smith, Lee Gregory, George Byers, and George Byers have all garnered fans as clubs try to position themselves for the last two weeks of the window and even the summer.

The Star now knows that Wednesday’s opponents in the Championship, Ipswich Town, are very interested in the in-form left-winger Marvin Johnson. After being unregistered by former manager Xisco, the 33-year-old has battled his way back into the Owls’ plans. He has produced some of his greatest play in his two and a half seasons at S6, scoring four goals in his past five games.

The Star has been informed by sources that Johnson is being discussed with Wednesday and promotion-challenging Ipswich as the Tractor Boys seek to bolster their depth on the left flank. The details of Ipswich’s offer are still unknown, as is the likelihood that Johnson will be let go on Wednesday.

The most recent comes after The Star revealed that Johnson’s contract issue remained unresolved during the summer, attracting interest from Kieran McKenna’s camp as a free agent. Following two years and a standout performance in their most recent promotion campaign, the former Middlesbrough wide player decided to stay longer at S6, signing a new contract at the beginning of July.

This season, Johnson has participated in 13 games and recorded three goals and two assists. Over the course of his 108 appearances on Wednesday, he has nine goals and 25 assists.
