After more than a decade, New Kids on the Block are reuniting musically with the release of their brand-new album Still Kids, scheduled to drop on May 17. This marks their first studio project in 11 years, and it’s a moment longtime fans have been waiting for. The group, which dominated pop charts through the late ’80s and early ’90s, is stepping back into the spotlight with a fresh take on their signature sound.
Band member Donnie Wahlberg shared that this album reflects both their personal and artistic growth. He described it as their most mature work to date, while also noting how much fun and ease went into its creation. The group seems to have found a balance between staying true to their roots and embracing the freedom that comes with years of experience in the industry.
The lead single, “Kids,” recently debuted on YouTube alongside a music video, giving fans a first taste of the direction the album is taking. Featuring 14 tracks, Still Kids aims to blend nostalgia with new energy, capturing themes of hope, self-expression, and possibility. The song highlights the band’s ability to evolve while keeping their loyal fanbase engaged.
To support the album, NKOTB will be launching their Magic Summer 2024 Tour in June, a nationwide run that includes performances with special guests Paula Abdul and DJ Jazzy Jeff. This tour not only celebrates the new music but also nods to the group’s historic tours from their peak years. It’s a full-circle moment that ties together past and present.
New Kids on the Block — Donnie Wahlberg, Jordan Knight, Jonathan Knight, Joey McIntyre, and Danny Wood — originally disbanded in 1994 but reignited their careers with a comeback in 2008. Since then, they’ve remained active with tours and special releases. Now, with Still Kids, they’re proving once again that they still have something meaningful to say — and sing — to audiences both old and new.
