Steven Tyler’s ‘Janie’s Fund’ Charity Event Raises Millions to Support Trauma Victims Los Angeles, CA – February 2, 2025 – Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler hosted his annual “Jam for Janie” charity event, a star-studded fundraiser supporting his Janie’s Fund foundation, which aids women and girls who have experienced trauma and abuse. The event, held in Los Angeles, brought together musicians, actors, and philanthropists in a night of music, celebration, and heartfelt giving. A Mission to Heal and Empower Janie’s Fund, founded by Tyler in 2015, is dedicated to providing resources, therapy, and shelter for abused and neglected girls. Named after Aerosmith’s 1989 hit song “Janie’s Got a Gun,” which tells the story of a young girl escaping abuse, the fund has since partnered with Youth Villages to offer trauma-informed care, counseling, and financial support to victims. “Every year, I see more and more people coming together for this cause, and it warms my heart,” Tyler said on stage during the event. “No child should suffer, and no survivor should feel alone. Tonight, we’re here to make a difference.” A Night of Music and Fundraising This year’s Jam for Janie event featured performances from some of the biggest names in rock and pop. Special guests included Miley Cyrus, Lenny Kravitz, and Sheryl Crow, who joined Tyler on stage for powerful renditions of classic hits. Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry made a surprise appearance, reuniting with Tyler for an emotional acoustic performance of “Dream On.” The event also included an auction featuring exclusive memorabilia, including a signed Gibson guitar from Aerosmith’s final tour, backstage passes to upcoming concerts, and a private dinner with Steven Tyler. The auction alone raised over $2 million, with all proceeds going directly to the fund’s programs. The Impact of Janie’s Fund Since its inception, Janie’s Fund has helped more than 1,000 young women receive critical mental health care and housing support. The foundation funds therapy programs, life skills training, and college scholarships, helping survivors rebuild their lives. “This isn’t just about raising money—it’s about changing lives,” Tyler said. “These girls deserve love, support, and a future full of possibilities.” With another successful event in the books, Janie’s Fund continues to grow, offering hope to those who need it most.

New boy Roland Key player backed to make a big impact for Shrewsbury Town.

Roland Idowu, the newest addition at Shrewsbury Town, according to Tunmise Sobowale, is just the man the team needs to contribute goals and assists.

Shrewsbury Town set to sign Waterford midfielder Roland Idowu | Shropshire Star

Idowu moved here a few weeks prior to Town’s trip to Adams Park to play Wycombe Wanderers.

He was the third League of Ireland player to sign with the Shropshire team since Micky Moore became director of football and Matt Taylor became manager.

Since they both played for Waterford before Sobowale joined Salop in the summer, Sobowale and Idowu have a good friendship.

Sobowale thinks Idowu can translate his scoring and assist track record from Ireland to English football when given the opportunity.

“Yes, without a doubt,” Sobowale replied. “Both I and he have faith in each other.

“The team believes in him and the gaffer believes in him so I think that he can come in and really put in some good work for us and get some goals and assists for himself.”

Idowu’s transfer won’t be completed until the window opens in the New Year, so he will have to wait until he can make his Salop debut.

“Personally I think Roland is a very unique player,” he stated.

“He plays the ball well. Along with having an incredible work ethic, he can play a variety of positions, including right and left wings as well as number ten.

“He is very flarey as well, being confident on the ball and he can get goals and assists.”
