Moyes is prepared to offer over £15 million to attract a major star; a three-year contract with West Ham might be extended – source

West Ham United are planning a new bid for Manchester United defender Harry Maguire this summer.

That is according to The Sun, with the newspaper reporting on its website on Saturday (16 March) that David Moyes wants a defender who can win headers after realising his squad are weak in that area.

The publication added that the East London club could be willing to pay £15-£20million for his services, offering a two or three-year deal.

Will West Ham finally land Manchester United man Harry Maguire?

The Hammers seemingly came close to signing the central defender last summer, as Moyes looked to shake up his squad ahead of the new season.

But the centre-back remained at Old Trafford, keen to stay and fight for his place under manager Erik ten Hag.

But that hasn’t been the case, with Maguire certainly not a regular at Manchester United this season. Despite that, he has kept his place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad.

The defender has been selected by the Three Lions boss for their upcoming international friendlies with Brazil and Belgium this month.

But perhaps his long-term international future is in danger should the lack of minutes at club level continue.

Will West Ham make a summer move for Manchester United man Harry Maguire?

Maguire has featured under Ten Hag at times this season, but he is certain to drop down the pecking order next season amid an expected transfer window shakeup at Old Trafford, where a new centre-back looks likely to be a priority for the man in the dugout.
