Manchester United Finalizes €60 Million Transfer for Manuel Ugarte from PSG

Manchester United is set to finalize a significant signing with the acquisition of midfielder Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain. The 23-year-old Uruguayan player is expected to complete his move to the Premier League giants, pending a medical examination scheduled for later today.

The deal, valued at €60 million, consists of a €50 million base transfer fee along with an additional €10 million contingent on performance-related milestones. This transfer marks a major investment for Manchester United, reflecting their ambition to strengthen their squad.

Despite a promising start to his tenure with PSG, Ugarte has seen his playing time diminish under coach Luis Enrique. Notably, he was absent from the squad in PSG’s recent 6-0 victory over Montpellier, suggesting a shift in his status within the team.

Ugarte’s initial transfer to PSG was completed before Enrique’s appointment, with the midfielder joining from Sporting CP for €60 million. His move to Manchester United represents his first major transfer since leaving the Portuguese club.

The Uruguayan could make his debut for Manchester United this Sunday, when they face Liverpool in a highly anticipated Premier League match. Ugarte’s arrival is the fifth major signing for United this summer, following Leny Yoro, Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs de Ligt, and Noussair Mazraoui.
