Warrington forward Ben Currie says he is reaping the rewards of sacrificing a trip to New Zealand with the Great Britain squad.
The 25-year-old agreed to sit out of the Lions tour last autumn so he could have a rare full pre-season of intense training following a couple of serious injuries either side of the 2017 World Cup.
Currie, who has played for England and Ireland on the international stage, has no regrets over not touring with the Lions last year.
He said: “It’s been three or four years since I last had a full pre-season.
