James McFadden’s remarks on Liam Scales after Celtic defeated Livingston

Brendan Rodgers and Celtic are back on the winning track!

What James McFadden said about Liam Scales following Celtic's win over Livingston

Much-needed and richly deserved, as the Celtic camp was uplifted by two goals in the second half from Kyogo Furuhashi and Liam Scales against Livingston.

Liam Scales may have scored the better goal, despite Kyogo Furuhashi’s close-range finish being the usual Kyogo Furuhashi, even if it came from a set-piece.

James McFadden told Sportscene Premiership Highlights that he was “unbelievablely” amazed by what he saw.

Liam Scales was able to tip the ball onto the back of the net as it was heading away from him as he ran towards the near post.

For a 25-year-old playing for a Celtic team that is only getting better this season, that was a very outstanding performance.

Luis Palma, who is now beginning to rediscover some form ahead of the derby against Rangers on December 30, assisted both of Celtic’s goals.

Celtic’s goal from Liam Scales

“We’re not used to seeing the second goal, especially with Livi—they are so well-organized during set plays,” McFadden remarked.

“What a fantastic header. It’s an outstanding run by Liam Scales. He bolts off the back; Nottingham picks him up but doesn’t go anywhere near him. While sprinting away from the goal, Scales is able to flick the ball onto it and into the net. It’s a fantastic objective.

“From a Celtic perspective, it’s excellent.”

Celtic FC v Feyenoord: Group E - UEFA Champions League 2023/24

completing 2023 victorious

There are two games left to complete the Celtic boys’ trophy-winning season.

Yes, the club hasn’t performed up to expectations these past several weeks, but if they defeat Dundee and Rangers in their final games of 2023, they will undoubtedly finish first place going into the new year.

That would only serve to improve the atmosphere even more, particularly since the January transfer window is quickly approaching.
