New Stevenage man Louis Appere excited after Northampton switch
New Stevenage signing Louis Appere is enthusiastic about his move to the Lamex Stadium, describing it as “an exciting opportunity.” The forward joined Stevenage on a permanent deal from League One rivals Northampton Town.
Appere mentioned that his decision was significantly influenced by conversations with Stevenage manager Alex Revell. “I had a really good chat with Alex and he was really interested in bringing me on board. It was a good conversation,” Appere said, speaking to the club’s official website.
Having played against Stevenage over the past two seasons, Appere has had firsthand experience of the team’s quality. He noted that Stevenage and Northampton were both promoted at the same time, which added to the appeal of the move. “Stevenage have been doing well, got promoted the same time as [Northampton], and this is just a really exciting opportunity.”
Appere is also looking forward to learning from Revell, who has experience as a forward himself. “The gaffer is an experienced forward himself and hopefully I can learn a good few things from him.”
Reflecting on his style of play and what he brings to the team, Appere said, “I’ll bring a lot of athleticism and pace to get in behind. I pride myself on my work rate and I will give everything in every game. And hopefully a few goals as well.”
While Appere is eager to make his debut in front of Stevenage fans, he remains focused on preparing for the upcoming season. “I’m sure it will be a great day when I walk out in front of the fans but it’s a long way away. Let’s get pre-season out of the way.”
