The Weather

Tigers fans planning to tailgate or attend the home opener on Friday will face a chilly day. All week, it was predicted to be cold; however, the main question was whether it would rain.

Will it Rain on the Tigers Opening Day?
Although the heavy rain that we experienced earlier this week has stopped, rainy weather is still possible. As of early Friday morning, rain was falling in other parts of Southeast Michigan, but Downtown Detroit remained dry.

Metro Detroit will continue to see morning showers, but the rain will not be heavy. Sporadic showers are possible through midday. Occasionally, drizzle may contain a small amount of snowflakes.

That rain subsides by 3 p.m. Showers are possible during the game, which starts at 1:10 p.m., even though the rest of the day will be dry.

Make sure the game allows you to bring an umbrella. See this page for Comerica Park’s bag policy. On September 21, 2021, at Comerica Park, during the second inning of a Major League Baseball regular season game between the Chicago White Sox and the Detroit Tigers, raindrops appear on empty seats as a steady downpour occurs.

Temperature If you’re going to the game, bundle up. Today’s highs are only expected to get as high as the mid-40s. It will be cool and windy at first pitch, with a temperature of about 42 degrees.

Eclipse prediction and beyond
After today, the gloomy, rainy, and cloudy weather will be leaving. On Saturday and Sunday, the clouds disappear. But the real question is whether Monday’s solar eclipse will be cloudy or clear.

As of right now, Monday morning is predicted to bring rain. According to current trends, the rain should stop after breakfast and the clouds should gradually clear, so it should be clear by the afternoon when the eclipse occurs.
