Exclusive: Club agree to sign Wolves 21-yr-old today

Sources: Wolves midfielder Chem Campbell agrees to join new club after terms agreed

Wolves midfielder Chem Campbell has agreed a move to Wycombe Wanderers after ending his loan spell at Charlton, sources have told Football Insider.

The 21-year-old spent the first half of the season on loan at The Valley but is now set to spend the second half of the 2023-24 campaign on loan at League One rivals Wycombe.

Campbell featured 16 times during his time with Charlton, scoring two goals and providing two assists.

It is believed Wolves feel he would benefit by going out on a fresh loan and Wycombe have won the race for his services and are set to bring him back to the club.

Charlton confirmed the cancellation of Campbell’s loan on Monday (15 January).

Addicks technical director Andy Scott said: “He hasn’t played as much as was initially anticipated and, with new players already in the building this January and more to come, it was felt that his loan with us finishing was best for all parties.”

The Birmingham-born ace is set to return to Wycombe after spending the second half of the 2023-24 campaign on loan with the Chairboys.

He notched three goals in 17 games across all competitions in his first senior loan since graduating from the Wolves academy.

The former Wales youth international is under contract at Molineux until June 2025.

He has already turned out eight times for the Wolves first-team, with those appearances coming under three different managers.

Wycombe

Wycombe sit 14th in the League One table, just one place below Charlton.

The Buckinghamshire club are next in action against Port Vale on 20 January.
