West Ham: Thilo Kehrer completes permanent £9.5m Monaco move
West Ham defender Thilo Kehrer has completed a permanent move to Monaco after the French club activated an option in his loan deal. Kehrer, who joined Monaco in January, had struggled for playing time at West Ham, failing to make a Premier League start in the first half of the season. However, he has since become a key player for Monaco, making 14 league starts and helping the team secure a second-place finish in Ligue 1, thus qualifying for the Champions League.
Monaco exercised their option-to-buy for a deal worth around £9.5 million, and Kehrer has signed a four-year contract with the club. This move was influenced by the return to form of Vladimir Coufal and the summer arrival of Konstantinos Mavropanos at West Ham, which pushed Kehrer down the pecking order for both right-back and centre-half positions.
