Jack Butland is reportedly looking to depart Rangers during the upcoming summer transfer window, with a desire to return to the English Premier League, as stated by DHNet.
According to the Belgian news outlet’s report on April 11, Butland, the English goalkeeper, intends to head back south of the border after spending just one season at Ibrox.
Rangers are said to be eyeing Standard Liege’s goalkeeper, Arnaud Bodart, as Butland’s potential replacement, with a speculated fee of £3.4 million, as per SudInfo.
The condition for Rangers to pursue the signing would likely be Butland’s departure, as noted by the outlet: “One of the conditions required before the Scottish club possibly positions itself, would be for the current holder, Jack Butland, to leave.”
The report adds that Butland’s wish after a full season with Rangers is to reestablish himself in the Premier League.

Acknowledged as the top goalkeeper in the Scottish Premier League, Butland’s signing has been hailed as the most significant transfer across Scottish clubs in the past year. However, there’s a recognition that Butland might aspire to compete at a higher level, particularly after being overlooked for the England national team, which could fuel his desire to move on.
Nonetheless, Rangers will need to persuade the 31-year-old to stay at Ibrox if they are serious about challenging Celtic consistently for the league title.
The club made a wise decision to turn down offers from Nottingham Forest during the January transfer window, and they are now benefiting from that decision in the latter part of the season.
Under Philippe Clement’s management, Rangers can provide European football opportunities and a platform to contend for trophies consistently. However, a substantial offer could be difficult to resist, and if Butland is determined to seek a new opportunity, the club might find it challenging to prevent his departure.
