Chris Sutton tears into ‘dirty’ West Ham United amid ‘disrespectful’ David Moyes developments

West Ham United has come under fire from Chris Sutton, who called them “dirty” for starting the manager search behind David Moyes’ back.

According to reports, there’s a growing likelihood that the Scotsman will leave the London Stadium at the end of his current contract and season. Negotiations have reportedly already started with Ruben Amorim, one of his possible replacements.

The 61-year-old’s position is still unknown, but the Hammers have not yet made an official announcement about it. Sutton has already blasted the management for their “disrespectful” behaviour.

Talking about It’s All About To Begin! At 12:50 on April 25, he stated: “This is just another instance of how disrespected managers can be, and I can’t think of many with such a stellar management career as David Moyes.

“I know teams have to plan ahead and look ahead, but given how public this situation is, I think it would have been better for West Ham to announce David Moyes’ departure at the end of the season, thank him for his work, and give him all the credit he deserves.

However, these recently released stories seem really sort of shady and underhanded, and I believe the appropriate word to use in this context is disrespectful. My heart goes out to David Moyes.

“I’ll say it again and I really don’t care what West Ham fans think, it’s about where their club is going to be on a year on for now and a new manager taking over means there will be a player exodus and they just need to be careful West Ham.

“The talk about getting to that next level, that’s not that easy and Moyes has done a brilliant job. They’ll probably ask him back next year.”

Will West Ham United sack David Moyes amid Chris Sutton exit verdict?

It must be acknowledged that Moyes might have known that the Hammers were in the process of secretly negotiating, and as far as Hammers supporters are aware, the Scotsman might have accepted his departure.

After the Irons’ Europa League loss to Bayer Leverkusen, he didn’t seem like a manager whose future was set, as several supporters and media members implied he was certain he wanted to stay.

However, in football, a week is a long time, and a lot could have changed in the background already. It doesn’t seem likely that the Hammers would start talking to other managers in secret without Moyes being informed.

In the upcoming days or weeks, hopefully, some clarity regarding the Scotsman’s role will surface. It is nearly impossible to start planning for the upcoming season when you don’t even know who will be in charge.
