Championship-winning, £26 million midfielder
Prior to the January transfer window, Matt O’Riley of Celtic is supposedly the target of Aston Villa.
The Villans are dominating both the Premier League and Europe, and in order to keep up their good form, they may try to add more players in January.
Villa is one of several teams who have been keeping an eye on O’Riley in anticipation of a possible approach, according to Sky Sports.
In addition to the Villans, the midfielder is apparently being pursued by West Ham, PSV Eindhoven, Atletico Madrid, and Inter Milan.
According to a report from Sky Sports, Inter is willing to give him an initial loan until the end of the season, with the requirement that they purchase him in the summer.
Fabrizio Romano once asserted that any team hoping to recruit O’Riley would need to shatter the Scottish transfer record in terms of price.
This is presently £25 million, which Celtic got in the summer when they sold Portuguese winger Jota to Al-Ittihad of Saudi Arabia.
