Timo Werner is eager to make his Tottenham loan agreement permanent, and a report has revealed one last requirement that might make or break the pre-arranged transfer: it involves Manchester United.
Upon Werner’s January six-month loan move to Tottenham from RB Leipzig, many in the game thought he was a surprise addition. The German is a good player in his own right, but Chelsea didn’t impress him when he played there before.
However, Ange Postecoglou needed a new forward to join his lineup, and Werner was a rather safe bet on a loan.
A roughly £15 million option to purchase Tottenham was also included in the loan deal.
The 28-year-old has shown the same lack of poise and finishing touch in front of goal that has plagued his Chelsea career thus far.
