Adolis Garcia, the Texas Rangers’ two-time All-Star outfielder, received a crucial injury report from manager Bruce Bochy on Sunday.
The Los Angeles Angels defeated the Texas Rangers 4-1 on Sunday. Texas now has a 24-24 record for 2024. Adolis Garcia, a two-time All-Star outfielder, missed the game due to a forearm ailment. Fans expected the worst given the Rangers’ injury worries. Fortunately, Garcia and the ball club appear to have escaped unharmed.
Rangers’ Adolis Garcia Injury Update
According to Jeff Wilson of Rangers Today, manager Bruce Bochy said the MRI on Garcia’s forearm injury was clear. As a result, Texas is apparently hoping Garcia will be able to return on Tuesday against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Garcia is slashing.251/.297/.491/.788 in the 2024 season. He’s also hit eleven home runs and nine doubles. Garcia appeared on the American League All-Star squad in both 2021 and 2023. He was considered for MVP in 2023 after hitting 39 home runs and driving in 107 runs with an OPS of.836. Garcia also received a Gold Glove Award during the 2023 season.
Garcia performed relatively well in 2024. The Rangers would want him to get on base more frequently, but the ace outfielder continues to provide plenty of power at the plate.
Rangers Slumping Into Phillies Series
Despite a recent spate of setbacks, Texas is resilient and determined to get back on track. They are only 3-7 in their last ten games, but the American League West teams are failing overall, thus the Rangers remain in second place. They are lucky to trail the division leader, the Seattle Mariners, by only 1.5 games.
The Phillies, however, are a strong opponent, with the best record in baseball as of the time this piece was written. Texas will try to upset the Phillies in their next three-game road series. It is a difficult undertaking, but one that the Rangers are prepared to undertake.
Regardless all the obstacles, Adolis Garcia will return in time for the Rangers-Phillies series.
