A Blackburn Rovers player is being watched by Luton Town and Swansea City.

Sam Gallagher, a striker for Blackburn Rovers, is being watched by Swansea City, Luton Town, and Ipswich Town this summer, the Express reports.

In the forthcoming transfer window, Blackburn Rovers may have to fight to hang onto the attacker as they get ready for another season in the Championship.

They prevailed away at Leicester City on the penultimate day of the previous season under former Birmingham City manager John Eustace, and they were able to remain up.

Gallagher, 28, was linked with Ipswich Town back in January but ended up staying put at Ewood Park. The Tractor Boys have now been promoted to the Premier League and remain interested in luring him down to Portman Road.

In this latest update regarding the player’s situation by the Express, Luton Town have been credited with an interest following their relegation from the top flight. Meanwhile, Swansea City have also placed him on their shortlist.

Gallagher has a year left on his contract at Blackburn Rovers so his long-term future is up in the air in Lancashire.

Rovers risk losing him for free in June 2025 unless they cash in on him now or in January.

He relocated to his present club in 2019, and he has been an important member of the team ever since.

With 188 appearances across all competitions, the former England youth international has scored 37 goals.

Before being recruited by Southampton in 2012, Gallagher was a young player in the academy at Plymouth Argyle.

After that, he played 26 games for the Saints and scored twice. In order to gain experience, he also had loan stints at MK Dons, Blackburn Rovers, and Birmingham City.

Next stop?

Swansea City may view Gallagher as a leader of the line as they prepare for Luke Williams’ first full season in charge.

Rob Edwards will continue to be in charge at Kenilworth Road as Luton Town looks to make an instant return to the top division.

While they get ready for life at the top, Suffolk Town might continue to strive to sign the Devon native.
