What Sunderland owner is now set to do this week after Newcastle United controversy

In response to the controversy surrounding Sunderland’s FA Cup match against Newcastle United, Kyril Louis-Dreyfus is about to take action.

Earlier this month, Sunderland played Newcastle United for the first time in nearly eight years, and they lost 3-0 at the Stadium of Light.

The week before the third round tie, though, had seen the football taken out of the spotlight.

When it was announced that Sunderland fans in the North Stand would have to make way for the visiting throng and that Newcastle would also receive the Black Cats Bar, the fans were already left feeling irate.

Subsequently, images emerged showing Sunderland souvenirs being taken out of the pub and having Newcastle decorations and advertising placed on top of them.

After the Black Cats expressed their displeasure on social media about the club’s choice, all of the decorations were removed, and Sunderland released an apologetic statement as a result.

The club stated that an investigation into how this had been let to occur will take place, but they have not provided any other information or mentioned any dismissals.

The Red & White Army, a fan group, has confirmed that Kyril Louis-Dreyfus will attend a supporter collective meeting on Thursday after criticizing the lack of communication.

“RAWA has received confirmation that the supporter collective meeting will be on January 18th and that Kyril Louis-Dreyfus will be attending,” they posted on social media. We appreciate your attendance at last night’s membership meeting. We will be bringing up a number of excellent points at the meeting.

What is KLD likely to deliver?

It is only fitting that Kyril Louis-Dreyfus be investigated for the appalling choices he made prior to the Newcastle loss, as many supporters have criticized both his ownership and his role on Wearside.

The 26-year-old businessman claimed he was unaware of the incident until it surfaced on social media, but he hasn’t said who is actually to blame for it.

I’m hoping the meeting provides the answers we need, and there will undoubtedly be inquiries on Michael Beale’s presence as well.

After just six games in charge—two wins, one draw, and two losses—the former Rangers coach has very few supporters in Sunderland.

Kristjaan Speakman’s possible arrival could also provide light on transfer negotiations, as the team has been remarkably quiet so far in the January transfer season.
