Man Utd forward denies report amid Sunderland, Southampton and Ipswich transfer links

The former loanee of Sunderland has announced that he will not be participating in the Africa Cup of Nations later this month.

Amad, a former player for Sunderland, has announced that he will not be traveling with the Ivory Coast team to the Africa Cup of Nations.

The forward for Manchester United has been rehabbing from a preseason knee injury, and last week he made his season debut as a substitute in Erik ten Hag’s team’s 2-1 loss to Nottingham Forest.

Amad was listed as one of the players scheduled to fly to the Africa Cup of Nations event, which begins on January 13, according to a Sky Sports graphic. However, the player has since responded to that tweet with the words, “Not true.”

Amad, 21, had an outstanding loan stint with the Black Cats club last season, scoring 14 goals in 39 Championship outings. Sunderland had been monitoring his status during the summer.

In addition to Ipswich, Southampton has also been mentioned as a potential home for the player during their January loan period.

Nevertheless, Amad may get more chances in Manchester United’s starting lineup now that Jadon Sancho is anticipated to depart Old Trafford this month.
