Although the 21-year-old has been linked to leaving Manchester United this month, it appears that Erik ten Hag still has him in his sights.

Although Michael Beale, the manager of Sunderland, maintains that his team would be open to taking Amad Diallo on loan, he is aware that this is improbable given Manchester United’s determination to cling onto the player.
Last season, Amad had a fantastic loan stint with Sunderland, scoring 14 goals in 39 games to lead the Black Cats into the Championship play-offs. The Ivorian descended to the regular football second division and discovered precisely that, turning into a talisman at the Stadium of Light.

Following his recovery from a long-term injury and United’s decision to loan out several periphery players, speculation about the 21-year-old’s future has became more intense this month. Though a deal is doubtful, Beale acknowledges that he would love to have him back at Sunderland.

“We’ve made it really clear to them that we would be in there but Man United really value him as well,” Beale explained. “He may have an intriguing second half of the season if he stays in the team, but they know we would want him to return if he were to go on loan.

“Assigning aside money, since that’s the important thing, isn’t it? I know he enjoyed his time here, the fans adored him, and he was a hit in the locker room. It was something I always assumed would happen when I moved here, but I believe Manchester United now realizes they have a very talented player on their hands.”

After Jadon Sancho was loaned out to Borussia Dortmund, it is believed that United is willing to keep Amad on staff for the remainder of the season. It appears that the young player is Antony’s natural backup after Erik ten Hag chose to start him off the bench vs Nottingham Forest rather than Facundo Pellistri.
