Sunderland medical arranged as Hull City, Blackburn Rovers and Luton Town weigh…

Alan Browne makes contract stance clear as PNE's start and summer assessed

Alan Browne is poised to undergo a medical at Sunderland after departing Preston North End this summer. The Irishman opted against extending his contract at Deepdale, concluding his decade-long tenure with the club. Coventry City and Sheffield United have shown interest in the 29-year-old, alongside Turkish side Goztepe. However, a move to Sunderland appears imminent.

Former Preston, Stoke, and Hull player agrees to transfer

Manchester City forward Liam Delap is reportedly set to join Ipswich Town for an initial fee of £15 million plus £5 million in add-ons. An agreement has been reached with Ipswich Town, despite interest from Southampton. The Athletic reports that Delap has chosen Portman Road over St Mary’s. The former loanee at Preston North End, Hull City, and Stoke City was contracted with City until 2026, with City reportedly having a buyback option and a 20% sell-on clause.

Luton Town interested in former West Brom and Burnley star

Luton Today reports that Luton Town have taken Erik Pieters on trial after his release from West Brom. The 35-year-old departed Albion this summer after making 61 appearances since joining from Burnley two years ago. Pieters, who previously played for Stoke as well, featured in a closed-doors match against Stevenage, which Luton Town won 3-0. The versatile defender has accumulated 552 career appearances.

Hull City looking at striker options

Hull City are seeking attacking reinforcements following the departures of Aaron Connolly, Liam Delap, Billy Sharp, and Noah Ohio from last season, with Jaden Philogene reportedly on his way to Ipswich Town as well. Give Me Sport reports that Wolves youngster Leon Chiwome is drawing interest from Hull City and Blackburn Rovers. A loan move for the 18-year-old is being considered after he signed a long-term deal at Molineux earlier this month.
