Anthony Patterson: 6/10

No chance with the goals but looked solid enough, distribution was poor but very few options to pick out up field.

Trai Hume: 3/10

Sloppy on the ball and dived in too quickly, almost got punished for it in the first half but was bailed out by Ballard, didn’t learn his lesson shortly after and did it again leading to the opener.

Dan Ballard: 6/10

Defended manfully at the back and was really unfortunate to score an own goal, won lots in the air and made some brave blocks. Blotted his book right at the end with a sloppy tackle that gave away a penalty.

Luke O’Nien (C): 7/10

Like Ballard, put everything into defending and threw himself into tackles. Bailed out Ballard with a brave header after his fellow centre-half headed a cross straight to an opposition player.

Aji Alese: 6/10

A difficult game for Alese after only recently coming back from a long term injury but I thought he held up well and worked hard at left back.

Dan Neil: 5/10

No control on the game, had a couple of drives forward, including a nice run that set Pritchard away for his shot against the bar, but they were very rare.

Pierre Ekwah: 3/10

A catastrophic error just after half-time killed the game. Tried to make up for it shortly after and had a deflected shot save but the damage was done.

Jobe Bellingham: 3/10

Completely anonymous for most of the game and looked slow and ponderous on the few occasions he was involved.

Alex Pritchard: 7/10

Our main attacking threat, which isn’t saying much but unlucky not to score with two separate shots, one clipping the bar and the other well saved.

Jack Clarke: 4/10

Could not get into the game at all, which led to him trying too hard to make something happen on the very rare occasion he had possession, often leading to him losing the ball.

Nazariy Rusyn: 4/10

Ran the channels and tried closing down but usually on his own leading to just being passed around, completely isolated up top.

Abdoullah Ba: 6

Actually looked really lively once he came, causing a few problems with his quick feet.

Man of the Match: Luke O’Nien

Pritchard had a good game when he was on the ball but that was nowhere near enough, Ballard was having a very good game but scored an own goal and gave away a needless penalty so my man of the match is O’Nien. Was overran at times but stuck at it, tried to get the crowd fired up and put in some big blocks and tackles.
