Journalist: “Differences”: Sunderland player now pressing for January departure following club fallout

Jewison Bennette’s off-field issues are motivating him to go on loan from Sunderland in January.

The winger signed a four-year contract with Sunderland last summer after joining from Costa Rican team Herediano for an estimated £1.07 million.

The next month, Jewison Bennette made his debut. In the 87th minute, he scored the team’s first goal to earn a point against Watford.

Although things haven’t gone as planned this season, the 19-year-old made a total of 15 appearances the previous season and appeared to be a very promising potential.

Bennette has just played nine minutes of senior football this season, but in that game against Southampton in September, he brilliantly set up Chris Rigg’s first league goal.

Bennette, when healthy, has mostly played for the Sunderland U21 team; he hasn’t even been listed on the Sunderland bench since the team’s 4-0 loss to Middlesbrough.

Bennette opted to be left out of the starting squad, according to Tony Mowbray, who said that the player would rather be on the field than on the sidelines. But by the appearance of it, things had deteriorated.

San Antonio v Sunderland Pe-Season Friendly

Journalist Kevin Jimenez from Costa Rica claims that the teenager is pressing for a loan transfer elsewhere next month after having a falling out with the board.

“Jewison Bennette is not playing for Sunderland due to differences on the part of the board,” Jimenez wrote on X. The athlete feels that he is not receiving respect, according to insiders. In January, the player would move out on loan.

Is Jewison Bennette someone we should loan out?

Though he was far from the caliber expected in his first season, Jewison Bennette has undoubtedly showed flashes of promise in his year on Wearside. Though considering that he had recently relocated from South America, it was undoubtedly to be anticipated.

Although we haven’t seen any indications of development this season, I believe that many supporters would still believe that a loan transfer was the best option for him, even if he hadn’t experienced any “differences” with the team.

Sunderland are lacking in back-up options to Jack Clarke and Patrick Roberts, but Bennette is yet to reach the level in which he can impress in the Championship. Playing U21 football will only get the young player so far, therefore a loan move to a League One team may be beneficial.
