Jack Clarke, a product of Leeds United’s academy, made his Elland Road debut during Marcelo Bielsa’s first season in charge of Leeds.
After being signed by Tottenham, he was sent back to Leeds right away, where he struggled on the field until ultimately joining Sunderland in the northeast.
Now that it doesn’t seem like Sunderland will make a late run for the Championship play-offs, Clarke’s future there seems questionable. Carlton Palmer, a former Leeds player, has questioned whether the Lilywhites should think about resigning him.
Following loan spells at Stoke, QPR, and Sunderland, Clarke made just four professional Spurs appearances. After that, he made a permanent move to Sunderland, where in 105 games, he has helped his team score 49 goals.
Despite being out due to injury at the moment, he has played in 35 games for Sunderland this season and scored 15 goals with four assists.
According to Calcio Mercato, Sunderland is apparently holding out for £21 million, since Lazio’s January bid of £15 million was rejected.
Dean Jones recently said on GIVEMESPORT that Leeds would look to sign Jack Clarke if they were promoted. In response to these rumors, former Whites midfielder Palmer told Football League World that signing Clarke is not a viable possibility for the team.
“I find it improbable that Clarke will make a comeback. First and foremost, Leeds needs to advance. Numerous clubs are interested in signing him, and I just don’t see him returning to his previous club.
