Making such an immediate impact at Derby County, according to Dwight Gayle, has been a dream come true. He also praises Paul Warne for creating a “fantastic” environment.
In last night’s 2-1 victory over Reading, Gayle scored his third goal in as many games and was awarded a penalty. The supporters praised the former Newcastle striker’s effort, and he rightly won man of the match.
Speaking about his smooth transition from Stoke City to the Rams after joining on a free transfer, Gayle stated he had adjusted to his new surroundings rather fast.
“You’re playing in a packed stadium and for the fans to be singing my name feels like a dream come true,” he stated.

“Being able to assist the lads is really wonderful. We’ll try again on Saturday to see if we can obtain another result. After a few disappointing seasons, you almost begin to question your abilities, but as I mentioned before, the guys have been so accommodating that I’ve adapted in no time.
“I’m having fun playing football, and I hope it keeps up. Paul’s obsession with reading and his way of thinking is refreshing. I’ve had a great time with it, and it’s evident that he has developed an amazing training ground setting. It’s as if everyone is in one group.
