According to reports in the Turkish media, Goztepe are interested in Arsenal youngster Reuell Walters, which might lead to a move to Southampton.
The 19-year-old is poised to leave Arsenal this summer after his contract expires.
Fotospor reports on Goztepe’s pursuit of the right back, claiming the Super Lig team has already made an offer to Walters. Sport Republic owns the Turkish club, and they are now trying to finalise a contract for the kid.
According to reports, Walters has been assured that if he succeeds at Goztepe, he would be offered a transfer to Southampton. Sport Republic is also the majority shareholder in the Championship club, and as part of the negotiations, he has been offered the opportunity to relocate to the Saints.
The Arsenal youngster’s status is also being monitored by clubs in the Netherlands and Belgium.
Walters has been with Arsenal since he signed as an under-16 in 2020. However, the defender has not made the breakthrough and believes it is time to go on and begin his professional career somewhere.
