Latrell Mitchell is reiterating that Spencer Leniu should face a severe ban.

It seems there’s a serious situation unfolding in the NRL involving allegations of racism directed towards Ezra Mam by Spencer Leniu during a recent game in Las Vegas. Latrell Mitchell, the Indigenous All Stars captain, has expressed his support for Mam and called for a significant ban if Leniu is found guilty of the contrary conduct charge.

Mitchell emphasized the importance of ensuring Mam’s well-being and addressing racism within the game. He also urged NRL officials, Peter V’landys and Andrew Abdo, to take the matter seriously.

Broncos players reportedly confronted Leniu after the game, and the situation remained tense, particularly as both teams shared a flight the next day. Despite the awkwardness, Billy Walters confirmed that Mam has received strong support from his teammates and the club, which has helped lift his spirits.

The matter will be brought before the judiciary next Tuesday, promising to be a significant and potentially explosive hearing at Rugby League Central.
