Sheffield Wednesday News conducted an exclusive interview with The 1867 Group, a protest group, about what owner Dejphon Chansiri needs to do this summer.

Frustration among Sheffield Wednesday fans towards Chansiri peaked during the 2023/24 season due to his controversial management of the club. Fans’ discontent was exacerbated by Chansiri’s media outbursts, further damaging his reputation.

Manager Danny Rohl managed to stabilize the situation somewhat by leading the Owls to a surprising 20th place finish in the Championship, despite the season seeming doomed for a long time.

However, despite Rohl’s efforts, anger towards Chansiri persisted, leading to the formation of The 1867 Group. This group has gained significant support and organized multiple protests against Chansiri, notably during matches against Leeds United and Plymouth Argyle.

Sheffield Wednesday News has now engaged directly with The 1867 Group for insights.
