The San Antonio Spurs landed the number one overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft and used it to select French phenom Victor Wembanyama.

Wembanyama entered the NBA as one of the most hyped prospects in the history of the game.

Sure, the Spurs are the 15th seed in the Western Conference, but Wembanyama is putting on an impressive display in his rookie season.

In fact, the towering power forward created history after his performance against the Chicago Bulls, as revealed via Bleacher Report on Twitter.

Wembanyama is now the youngest player in NBA history to record a 20-20 stat line during the regular season.

To put things into better perspective, Wembanyama recorded 21 points, 20 rebounds, and 4 assists against the Chicago Bulls in 32 minutes of playing time.

Sure, Wembanyama created history by becoming the youngest player to record a 20-20 game in the league, but it still wasn’t enough to help the Spurs register a win against the Bulls.

Following the 112-121 loss against the Bulls, the Spurs have now fallen to a conference-worst 3-18 record.

Moreover, the Spurs are currently on a 16-game losing streak as well.

Keeping that in mind, it’s hard to see Wembanyama leading the Spurs back into the postseason.

Despite averaging 19.0 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game for the Spurs, the franchise may still end up with a losing record when it’s all said and done.
