Done Deal: Rotherham’s Transfer Business Continues in the Right Direction With New Additions.

Rotherham United’s summer recruitment drive continued with the signing of League One title winner Sean Raggett on Friday. The 31-year-old centre-back, who made 44 appearances for Portsmouth during their successful campaign last season, has joined on a two-year contract, becoming the fifth new addition for manager Steve Evans, formerly of Peterborough United.

Raggett joins striker Jonson Clarke-Harris, left-back Reece James, midfielder Shaun McWilliams, and right-back Joe Rafferty as the latest arrivals at the New York Stadium. Notably, Rafferty was also part of Portsmouth’s winning squad, while Clarke-Harris (Posh) and James (Sheffield Wednesday) have both recently secured promotions from League One.

Evans has a track record of extensive recruitment, having signed 18 players during his pre-season at Peterborough and adding another five in January before his departure, despite the team being in a play-off spot.

Meanwhile, in League One, Stevenage has named Alex Revell as the new manager, succeeding Steve Evans. They have also signed forward Louis Appere, previously with Northampton Town. Additionally, newly-promoted Stockport County has made their first summer signing by acquiring midfielder/defender Jay Mingi from Colchester United for an undisclosed fee.
