Reading FC: ‘I can’t control if we lose players’ Ruben Selles makes transfer admission

Ruben Selles, the manager of READING, acknowledged that he will be unable to “control” if the squad loses first-team players during the January transfer window.

Although Selles stated that he was determined to keep Reading’s team together through the end of the League One season, he acknowledged that Reading’s financial circumstances might need them to sell some of their assets.

Selles remarked, “I have no control over whether we lose players due to financial circumstances.”

Charlie Savage, a midfielder, has been linked to a move away this month, although the Royals are only able to bring in free agents and loans during this transfer window.

Savage’s potential signing by Derby County is reportedly being considered, although Selles wants to keep him with the team.

“Like any other player, Charlie (Savage) wants to stay and play,” Selles went on.

Savage was one of the Royals’ many summer additions as they rebuilt their team following their Championship relegation.

The 20-year-old, who was eager to leave the Premier League team in order to play regular senior games, signed a four-year contract with Reading after leaving Manchester United.

If the player is sold on a permanent contract with a sell-on provision included to his contract when he joined Reading, Man United is reportedly going to get a big payout.

Savage has scored four goals for the Royals this season in his 28 appearances across all competitions.
