Reading FC manager Ruben Selles has provided an injury update ahead of the upcoming trip to face Carlisle United. Selles has indicated that defenders Tom Holmes and Jeriel Dorsett are unlikely to be available for selection against bottom-placed Carlisle United on Saturday.
Holmes, who is currently on loan at Reading from Premier League side Luton Town, has been sidelined for over a month due to a back injury sustained in a match against Leyton Orient. Meanwhile, Dorsett, who has been enjoying a breakthrough season at full-back, suffered a significant injury setback during the recent 1-1 draw against Fleetwood Town.
Selles confirmed that while Dorsett may potentially return to action next weekend, Holmes’ recovery process is progressing slowly, indicating that it may be a couple more weeks before he is ready to make a comeback.
In the absence of Holmes and Dorsett, an unchanged defensive lineup comprising Andy Yiadom, Tyler Bindon, Amadou Mbengue, and Clinton Mola has been deployed in Reading’s recent matches, resulting in one victory and two losses for the Royals.
