GOOD NEWS:Reading fc has landed a top rated…

The summer  transfer window has slammed shut which has seen Reading FC lose six players in total, with one added to the squad.

Ruben Selles now knows his squad for the remainder of the season in his quest to try and guide the club to League One safety amid all the uncertainty and turmoil off the pitch.

First to leave was Tom Holmes who departed to join Premier League Luton Town on a permanent deal, however he has rejoined the Royals for the remainder of the season on loan.

Next out of the door was fans favourite Nelson Abbey, who joined Greek side Olympiacos on a permanent transfer after rejecting a move to Luton as the Hatters tried to pursue a double swoop for Holmes and Abbey.

Left-back Nesta Guinness-Walker, who had struggled to hold down a regular spot in the squad headed out to join League One Stevenage on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Another academy graduate left the building on Tuesday as Tom McIntyre, who had made more than 100 senior appearances for Reading since rising up through the academy ranks, was sold to Portsmouth for around £75,000.

Meanwhile, there was one incoming for Selles’ side who recruited young defender Zane Monlouis on loan from Arsenal.

The 20-year old centre-back has made 10 appearances for Arsenal U21s in Premier League 2 this season.

He also played four times in the EFL Trophy, which included an outing against Reading in which the Royals ran out as 5-2 victores in an entertaining contest.

Winger Femi Azeez was linked with a move to Championship club Plymouth Argyle throughout the day, however no deal materialised which means he remains with Reading until the summer when his current deal expires.
