Former Reading FC player joins a fourth-tier Scottish team

Marc McNulty, a former striker for Reading, relocated to Edinburgh from Los Angeles and joined Spartans FC of Scottish League Two.

The 31-year-old impressed at Coventry City and signed a more than £1 million contract to join the team back in 2018.

Over a four-year period, he made just 17 appearances and scored just one goal. During his three loan periods, he scored just 17 goals.

The former Scotland international went to the United States last year to play with Orange County Sporting Club, having spent two years up in Dundee.

“But for me, with all the s*** I have seen there (at Reading) over the years, I’m just glad it’s going to be over and I don’t have to go back down there,” he said to the Courier after talking about his time with the club and making headlines once more. I think I would be happier without a job than to experience that s**** once more.

“I’ve discussed it before, and I’ll come clean and explain everything that happened at some point.”

But as of right now, the forward is a member of the Spartans for the end of the season.

Manager Douglas Samuel made the following statement regarding the new hire: “Marc has been training with us since the New Year and has enjoyed it.” He has contributed to improving training standards. Everyone will benefit from this fantastic signing, including the players, coaches, and supporters.

“Adding someone with Marc’s caliber and pedigree can only improve our chances of having a successful first season.”
