The Dutch team has stated that they will consider any reasonable offer for the 32-year-old and that they won’t obstruct his departure, as reported by the Scottish Sun on December 25.

In his final 11 games before leaving Motherwell, he scored 14 goals, shattering the record he set the previous season with 29 goals.

“I talk to Kevin almost every day on the phone, and we will listen if there is interest because he is not playing,” Gudde stated.

“We will work with his departure if another club makes a solid offer and the resolution is satisfactory.

“He is welcome to return to the club in principle when we resume training on January 3rd as well.”

Worth taking into account

Rangers could benefit greatly from the Dutchman’s availability, especially considering their current circumstances, which include main striker Danilo out for several months due to injury and backup striker Cyriel Dessers struggling to find the right fit.

Van Veen, a former Motherwell striker with a track record of scoring goals in Scottish football, might be the perfect addition to increase Rangers’ offensive capabilities.

His remarkable goal total of 29 goals for Motherwell in the previous season, which broke records, demonstrates his goal-scoring ability and potential to have a significant impact in the Scottish Premiership.

Due to Danilo’s injury and Dessers’ poor play, Rangers are lacking a striker, so adding a player of the 32-year-old’s caliber could give the team the firepower they need to continue challenging for the championship.

The Dutch striker’s desire to think about returning to Scotland and Groningen’s receptiveness to offers put the Gers in a good position to work out a deal.

With van Veen’s experience playing Scottish football and the possibility of interest from his old team Motherwell, Rangers need to move quickly to take advantage of this chance.
