Barry Ferguson believes that the Rangers’ transfer window is yet another indication that his former team is heading in the right way.

Since Philippe Clement replaced Michael Beale, who was fired, there has been nothing but positive at Ibrox. The Belgian manager has only lost ONE game in charge, an away derby against Celtic.on addition to his performance on the park, many have been impressed by the way he has handled various situations and carried himself.

With a game remaining and a five-point deficit, the Gers are in the running for the championship after pulling even with the Hoops. Their next derby will be played at home. Numerous people believe they’ve had the better transfer window out of the two, which might potentially play a role.

What their former captain has observed in the market in January is definitely to his liking. He believes they’ve demonstrated some ingenuity by bringing in Oscar Cortes from Lens, Mohamed Diomande on a permanent contract from Nordsjaelland, and Fabio Silva on loan from Wolves.

And he believes that will benefit them in the long run.

“I take my hat off to Rangers for the work they have done to beef up Philippe Clement’s squad,” Ferguson remarked in a Daily Record interview. My old club is not exactly the richest in the world, as the Belgian stated before the window had even started. As a result, they had to be inventive in how they conducted business, and the guys in charge of the money also demonstrated ambition to meet the manager’s expectations.

“This is not the moment to start getting carried away, as I have stated numerous times in this column. If the Rangers are to return to their rightful place in the coming weeks, months, and years, a great deal of work has to be done. However, I think they are moving in the correct way at this point. The club seems to be coming together once more, and there is a sense of alignment from the top down, which hasn’t exactly been the case during the last ten or so years.

“So, based on what I’ve been witnessing and the evident advancements achieved under Clement, I’m quietly happy. Before January had even begun, he brought in Fabio Silva on loan from Wolves, and in the last few days, he has expanded the alternatives even further by acquiring Oscar Cortes and Mohamed Diomande.

“Diomande’s signing appears to be very smart—and not just because of the way the stats were laid out. They were able to sign an intriguing player on loan without having to pay a large number of money until the summer.

“That’s wise from a financial standpoint, but it also gives the player an additional half-year to adjust to the team and become acquainted with Scottish football.” I think it might take until the following season to see the best of him; similarly, given that Cortes hasn’t played much football this season in France, it might take until then.”

Ferguson believes that the two players who are already at Ibrox stand to gain from the arrivals. Despite a general dearth of options in wide areas, Ross McCausland has benefited from plenty of playing time; nonetheless, Cortes’s increased competition may encourage him to continue.

Todd Cantwell, on the other hand, has the ability to affect the outcome of the championship race and ought to seize the opportunity presented by the increased squad depth.

Fergie went on, “Ross McCausland has performed incredibly well, not only to establish himself as a regular starter but also to break through into the first team. However, he must have realized that nothing is worth taking for granted as soon as he learned about the interest in Cortes. That’s how it was for me when I was that age, and that’s how it needs to remain at Rangers forever.

“At this club, it should never be acceptable to remain still. Because Todd Cantwell is still, in my opinion, one of the most skilled and talented players in the nation, I’m really interested to watch how he reacts to the recent comings and goings. I’ve had some experience playing with them. Their name is game changers. And Cantwell is unquestionably in that category.”And I have no doubt that he can unlock this title race and deliver the one trophy Clement will desire above all others if he puts his best foot forward from now until the conclusion of the season.

“Cantwell was substituted off the field at the half in Rangers’ previous two away games against St. Mirren and Hibs. And that may confirm the idea that he and the manager don’t have the same viewpoints.

But in all honesty, I don’t believe that to be the case. Actually, I think Clement is putting a lot of pressure on Cantwell, and Todd is the kind of guy that rises to the occasion.”
