According to Andy Halliday, midfielder Nicolas Raskin of the Rangers is “done” at Ibrox and the team will be “actively trying to sell him” this summer.

The Belgian midfielder, who started the season as a regular for Michael Beale, has fallen out of favor under Philippe Clement and was left out of the entire matchday squad when Celtic visited Ibrox.

Halliday has acknowledged that he is a huge fan of the 23-year-old, but he doesn’t think Raskin can return to Glasgow and thinks the Gers will make every effort to trade him when the season ends.

Speaking (16 April, 36:00) on the Open Goal YouTube channel, he said: “What’s up with Raskin, by the way? You would think that he must be done. He was not included in the team for the Celtics match, and for the past few weeks, he has been an unutilized substitute.

To be honest, I like Raskin, but he hasn’t performed well this year. It’s when you start to believe Raskin is on vacation during the summer. He’s reached a stage where it seems unlikely that they are attempting to actively sell him.

Will Nicolas Raskin be sold by Rangers and Philippe Clement during the summer transfer window?
Shortly after arriving at Ibrox, Clement added more midfield options during the January transfer window. The Belgian’s preferred holding midfield pairing at Ibrox is John Lundstram and Mohamed Diomande.

Raskin’s recent performances, when given infrequent playing time, have not lived up to his selection. After Motherwell’s victory at Ibrox during his previous start, he was hooked after 45 minutes, and he has been confined to the bench ever since.

Even though Lundstram, Todd Cantwell, and Tom Lawrence have shown varying degrees of consistency throughout the season, they have all outperformed the 23-year-old, and it appears that he has no chance of succeeding under Clement in Glasgow.

All parties would benefit from a summer switch, especially since Clement will probably be eager to increase his options. Before the season ends, the Gers ought to be making every effort to find him a new team.
