Rangers wait for Abdallah Sima while Brighton recalls an attacker due to an injury crisis.

Rangers are still being linked to a permanent deal for Abdallah Sima, but in the meanwhile, Brighton has called up winger Jeremy Sarmiento.

The West Bromwich Albion team’s 21-year-old Ecuadorian winger Sarmiento has been recalled, according to the Premier League team.

Officially, the Seagulls “will look at what is the next best step for his development,” according to Rangers Hall of Famer and Brighton Technical Director David Weir.

It comes after Jeremy Sarmiento made just seven starts for the Baggies this season and the player was linked to the Greek team Aris Thessaloniki.

In that part of the field, Brighton is also experiencing a bit of an injury crisis due to issues with left winger possibilities Ansu Fati, Kaoru Mitoma, and Simon Adingra.

Conversely, Brighton mainstay Solly March is also tending to an injury at the moment.

Brighton calls back the winger Jeremy Sarmiento

Although Brighton’s future plans are unknown, Rangers supporters will be keeping a close eye on Brighton’s injury issue given Abdallah Sima’s impressive play recently.

Abdallah Sima, a £7 million former Slavia Prague forward, joined Rangers in the summer on a season-long loan, and he has been playing well at Ibrox.

With 14 goals this season, the attacker is a consistent contributor off the left, and Rangers will undoubtedly miss him when Sima departs for the AFCON later in January.

As things are, Brighton has no indication that they might recall Abdullah Sima, but if the team’s injury troubles don’t go away, they will need to address the difficulties inside their roster.

After spending the previous two seasons on loan at Stoke City and then Angers in Ligue 1, Aballah Sima joined the English team again in 2021 but has not yet made an appearance for the team.

The Rangers manager desires to sign Abdallah Sima.

Rangers supporters, who much admire the forward in manager Philippe Clement, are currently holding their breath over the striker’s potential permanent transfer.

Abdallah Sima, who will enter the final year of his Brighton contract at the end of the current campaign, is undoubtedly content where he is right now—in Glasgow.

Regarding the forward’s circumstances, it’s evident that Clement wants to retain the hitman until the summer, but it’s still unknown how the Rangers would pay for the acquisition.

However, it is anticipated that Rangers would initiate direct talks over a trade swap.

According to Clement, “it’s not about assessing that there will be talks faster than that in the summer.”

Of course, it’s too early to be doing that at this point. The fact that Abdallah is performing and enjoying himself so much in the club is what matters most. That is the initial stage, and from there, we can expand.

“I believe this is a good place for him to grow, as a player, as a person, in everything, if he keeps doing what he is doing now.”

This season, Abdallah Sima has now made 32 appearances for Rangers, scoring nine of his 13 goals in the Scottish Premiership.
