Rangers are now pursuing Jack Grealish, with a deal worth £750k, according to a report.

Rangers are keeping tabs on Port Vale youngster Liam Brazier but Borussia Dortmund are leading the race for his signature, according to The Sun.

The newspaper reported [29 December] that the 16-year-old, who has been compared to Jack Grealish, is being watched by several clubs around Europe, including Dortmund, Rangers, Brentford, Crystal Palace, Bayern Munich, PSG and Juventus.

It is understood that the club are looking at a price tag of £750,000 for the young prospect once the Vale have signed him up to his first pro form when he turns 17 next month.

Generational talent?

Dortmund are leading the fight for Brazier’s signature, but face fierce competition from clubs all over Europe. Despite being one of the smaller names amongst the interested parties, Rangers could be an intriguing offer for the youngster.

Ross McCausland is a perfect example of how young players can prosper at Ibrox, especially under the guidance of Philippe Clement. And with an ageing squad at his disposal, looking ahead to the future has never been so important.

Nils Koppen could play a vital role in luring the Vale forward to Rangers but Dortmund are a force to be reckoned with when it comes to developing youth players.

Brazier is an extremely exciting talent, however, and everything should be thrown at purchasing the youngster in the January transfer window.

He has been on the brink of the England Under 17 set-up but injury setbacks have stopped him from performing on the international stage. But his three appearances at senior level for Vale and his performances for the club’s reserves have been enough to convince multiple European giants of his immense talent.
