Rangers should only pay Hearts £1 million for Lawrence Shankland’s services, according to Lee McCulloch.
Prior to the January transfer window, there have been links between the Light Blues and the Scotland international.
Philippe Clement, the manager of Ibrox, recently dispelled rumors of a possible transfer. Additionally, McCulloch, who was Shankland’s coach at the Jambos, believes the striker would be a perfect addition to Rangers considering his contract status.
He stated: “He has a year and a half left because his contract is up at the end of next year (season)” in an interview with PLZ Soccer.
“Hearts will probably want to pay £2 million for him. In my opinion, Rangers ought to shell out slightly more than a million dollars for him.”
Due to an injury issue, Real Betis will be without six players for this week’s crucial Europa League matchup against Rangers.
To advance, Rangers must either match Sparta Prague’s result against Aris Limassol in the other encounter or win in Spain in the group’s final game.
After Portuguese midfielder William Carvalho, who has earned 80 caps, had a hamstring injury and was sidelined until Christmas, Real Betis were already in disarray.
Guido Rodríguez, the World Cup winner for Argentina, is also suspended and will not play in the match.
In addition, manager Manuel Pellegrini disclosed that they have four more injuries ahead of Thursday’s visit from Philippe Clement’s team.
They will also be without Senefalese right-back Youssouf Sabaly, Spanish defender Marc Bartra, Chilean goalkeeper Claudio Bravo, and French playmaker Nabil Fekir.
“We have a lot of problems with injured players,” Pellegrini stated.
“The only encouraging thing we can say is that Germán Pezzella underwent testing after feeling his hamstring, but he is well enough to play.
“But we are missing important players in a vital period of the season for us.”
