Ibrox View: Aberdeen shares a new exit strategy for Miovski while Rangers benefit from a transfer boost

Rangers and Philippe Clement will be preparing for the January transfer window by thinking about how to bolster their team as they aim to win the Scottish Premiership.

Although the Light Blues’ roster is not without holes, Rangers’ greatest need for reinforcements is at the top of the pitch, where a new striker who can score goals consistently should be at the top of Clement’s wish list.

Bojan Miovski, an Aberdeen striker, is one player who is supposedly of interest, but any possible deal for the North Macedonia international would require a Scottish record payment of upwards of £4.4 million [The Sun, 6 December].

Rangers
Rangers’ chances of signing the 24-year-old have, however, been somewhat enhanced by Aberdeen CEO Alan Burrows’ admission that he is unable to guarantee fans that Miovski will be retained past the January transfer window.

He stated, “We are in no rush to sell Bojan Miovski,” as reported in the Glasgow Times on December 12.Aberdeen uses a player trading model that forces you to sell when it’s convenient for you. That must, however, be at the amount you feel is appropriate for the club.

“I don’t know what other clubs are going to do, so I can’t offer any guarantees.Bojan is not being actively pursued for sale as the January transfer window approaches.

“We anticipate that Bojan will stay longer than that.”

Rangers will undoubtedly need to pay Aberdeen a hefty price to entice them to give up their star forward in order to sign Miovski this January, but the deal is still feasible despite the high cost.

Rangers

Since none of the current Ibrox options can score enough goals to propel them to the title this season, Clement needs a new number nine. In Glasgow, Danilo, Sam Lammers, and Cyriel Dessers have all pretended to be convincing, but Miovski has demonstrated that he can score goals on a regular basis in the Premiership.

The 24-year-old has scored 11 goals this season across all competitions, including six in 15 Scottish Premiership games. Rangers’ chances of winning the championship might significantly increase if they were to sign him for the second half of the season.

Although the Light Blues will need to meet Aberdeen’s demand, it seems like a deal worth going after. The Ibrox board can finally solve their biggest issue if they pay the appropriate amount.
