Ibrox Exclusive: Rangers are in a good position to agree on a £15 million club record signing

Rangers are well placed to secure a permanent move for prolific loanee Abdallah Sima in the summer, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed the Brighton loanee is valued at between £10-15million but this could increase if he maintains his excellent form under Philippe Clement.

It is believed talks are being held between the Premier League club and Scottish giants regarding the permanent transfer of Sima, amid Rangers fears they could be priced out of a move if his form persists.

However, a permanent stay at Ibrox would likely only be completed in the summer when his loan spell ends.

Sima would become the club’s all-time record transfer if the Seagulls sell at the upper end of this valuation.

It would beat Tore Andre Flo’s £12million move to Ibrox from Chelsea in 2000 which remains the highest transfer fee paid by a Scottish side.

The 22-year-old has proved one of Rangers’ best players this season after bagging 14 goals and two assists in all competitions.

The attacker is the Gers’ top scorer this season and his versatility has allowed him to play on both wings, at centre-forward and as a wide midfielder.

His performances in Europe have been particularly impressive after notching three goals in the Europa League group stage and being pivotal for the club reaching the knockout rounds.

Continued form on the continent would also have a big influence on his valuation.

Rangers’ home clash against Ross County had to be abandoned due to adverse weather conditions but they next face fierce rivals Celtic at Parkhead on Saturday (30 December).
